MEDIA RELEASE

(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / Oct. 21, 2020) – If you’re interested in helping the City of Stillwater pursue economic development in the downtown/campus area, apply to join the (Re)Investment Plan (A Stillwater Downtown/Campus Link Project Plan) Implementation Policy Committee.

The Implementation Policy Committee reviews applications for compatibility with the Stillwater (Re)Investment Plan (A Stillwater Downtown/Campus Link Project Plan) and recommends appropriate performance parameters and requirements. Members include four citizens and representatives from Stillwater Public Schools, Meridian Technology, and Payne County.

The committee is currently seeking a citizen representative that is a resident of the City of Stillwater. Apply at Stillwater.org/citizenboards by Friday, Nov. 6.

The Stillwater (Re)Investment Plan (A Stillwater Downtown/Campus Link Project Plan) creates an ad valorem and a sales tax increment district in Stillwater pursuant to the Oklahoma Local Development Act. This Plan encourages a cooperative effort from the affected taxing jurisdictions (downtown/campus areas) to benefit the community as a whole. Find details about this plan at http://stillwater.org/page/home/government/financial-center/tax-increment-finance-tif/faqs-stillwater-re-investment.
