The Stillwater City Council budgeted $400,000 to build a tennis complex at the former site of Hamilton Field in Couch Park. This is a joint effort between the City of Stillwater and the Stillwater Tennis Association (STA).
Overview: STA representatives have met with city staff and Studio Architecture to create a design for the courts, with a goal to build six courts in the finished project. The existing fieldhouse will be remodeled later in the project.
The remodeling of the courts will include junior court lines for younger players.
June 5, 2017: Ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m.
Aug. 9, 2017 (in progress): delivery and install of backboards and minor work still required by contractor on the gates.

March 16, 2016: Bids are currently under review. A report to Stillwater City Council will be presented on Monday March 21, 2016.
April 12, 2016: Staff and the Stillwater Tennis Association recommend rejecting all bids and re-bidding the project after changes are made to the plans and specifications.
Jan. 13, 2017: Couch Park tennis courts will be closed for construction beginning Monday, Jan. 23, 2017. Australian Court Works will refurbish all tennis courts. The city plans to reopen the courts June 1, 2017.
April 18, 2017: Surface material, fencing and gates have been installed.
Next, crews will be working on installing net posts, nets, benches, windscreen, sidewalks and completing grading along with installing sod. Anticipated completion date is May 23, 2017.
