The City of Stillwater and the Stillwater Utilities Authority are installing new sewer lines on Hester Street between 4th Avenue and 6th Avenue and on 4th Avenue between Washington Street and Hester Street.
The new sewer line will provide connections for existing structures and allow for abandonment of older sewer lines in the future.
Sept. 17, 2019: 90% plans received from Engineer.
Oct. 29, 2019: Utility coordination meeting held in preparation to send plan comments to Engineer.
Dec. 23, 2019: Final design is nearly complete. Bidding and Construction will begin in early Spring 2020.
Mar. 10, 2020: Project was advertised for bid March 8th and pre-bid conference is scheduled to be held March 25th.
Apr. 23, 2020: Project has been rescheduled to allow time for planning relocation of other utilities. Advertisement for the bid opening is scheduled for late May, 2020.
Jul. 29, 2020: Bid Opening was held on July 22, 2020.
Aug. 3, 2020: City Council and SUA approved the Bid Recommendation for Lopp Construction.
Sept. 18, 2020: Lopp was issued Notice to Proceed September 8th. Lopp's subcontractor, Danny Wick Excavating, will be completing the sewer line installation.
Oct. 21, 2020: Work continues on Hester Street for the water line installation and storm sewer. The sanitary sewer line will be installed on 4th Avenue after Hester Street utilities are installed.
Jan. 4, 2021: Lopp has begun concrete removal on 4th Avenue in preparation for the water and sewer line installations.
Feb. 18, 2021: The extreme cold has slowed progress on the 4th Avenue sanitary sewer construction.
Apr. 8, 2021: Progress on the sewer line has slowed due to the discovery of differing field conditions. The sewer line has been redesigned and will progress next week.
May 17, 2021: The sewer line and manholes are installed, and testing of the sewer line will be completed thirty days after installation.
September 14, 2021: The Contractor completed the mandrel test for the sewer line. Final walk-through is being scheduled.
October 4, 2021: The Contractor is currently working to complete the punch list items.
December 1, 2021: Staff are preparing the final reconciliation change order and final payment application to close out the project.
