What We're Doing

The City of Stillwater and the Stillwater Utilities Authority are upsizing and replacing approximately 8,000 feet of aging waterline around the Stillwater Medical Center. Phase 1 of the project was completed in 2013.

This project will increase reliability and improve water quality to multiple businesses and residential customers, including the Stillwater Medical Center.

Project Management


Updates

Jan. 9, 2018: The project design is 60% complete.

May 7, 2018: The project design is 90% complete.

November 20, 2018: Design is 100% complete. City staff are currently reviewing the Construction Project Manual in preparation to advertising for bids.

March 29, 2019: Pre-bid meeting was held on Friday, March 15, and Bids were opened on Wednesday, March 27.

May 6, 2019: Construction contract awarded to Danny Wick Excavating, LLC

June 24, 2019: Pre-Construction meeting with Danny Wick Excavating was held June 20, 2019. Contractor will begin mobilization mid July.

July 18, 2019: Construction along 7th Street will begin July 22nd. Parts of 7th Street will be closed during this time. Visit our Roadwork & Street Closings page for more detailed information on street closures during this project.

August 12, 2019: Construction continues along 7th Street. Once 7th Street is nearly completed, Danny Wick Excavating will begin installing waterline down Pine Street and along 8th and 9th between Walnut and Pine. 

October 15, 2019: Construction continues on Pine and Gray between 7th and 10th. 

December 17, 2019: Construction has progressed to Monroe and boring along 9th Ave.

January 22, 2020: Contractor is working along Monroe to rebuild the sidewalk on the west side. Water line construction will continue along Jefferson next week. 

April 23, 2020: Contractor is finishing the last block of water line installation on Jefferson Street and proceeding with final restoration of the entire project area. 

May 29, 2020: Contractor and City Staff are working together on a plan to abandon the old water lines in the east half of the project area. 

June 24, 2020: Contractor has substantially completed the project and is working on final restoration items.

July 29, 2020: Final restoration is complete and the Contractor and City are working on project close out documentation.

August 17, 2020: The project is complete. Water customers will receive a post card with instructions on how to notify the City of any issues that occur within the next year.
