The Administrative Division is an essential part of the Stillwater Fire Department, working behind the scenes to support the day-to-day functions of the organization. Although you may not see them as often as the operational personnel, the Administrative Division plays a vital role in the success of the department.
This team is responsible for a range of important tasks, including finance and budgeting, recruitment and personnel services, community outreach events, fire prevention, and record keeping. They also serve as the non-emergency point of contact for the fire department, helping to ensure that all of our systems and processes are running smoothly.
The Community Risk Reduction Division of the Stillwater Fire Department plays a crucial role in keeping our community safe. With a focus on inspections, fire investigations, and public safety education, this division works hard to prevent fires.
The Community Risk Reduction Division is responsible for enforcing the currently adopted municipal codes and provisions of the 2009/2015 International Fire Code, and they also conduct inspections upon request for permit applicants or potential buyers of commercial structures. This helps to ensure that all buildings in our community are up to code and safe for occupancy.
In the event of a fire, the Community Risk Reduction Division is also responsible for conducting thorough investigations to determine the origin and cause, whether accidental or incendiary.
Finally, the Community Risk Reduction Division is deeply committed to public education, and they offer a range of programs designed to promote fire and safety awareness in our community. These programs include the distribution of free smoke detectors, fire prevention week activities at local elementary schools, Kids Awareness Day, the Safe Kids Buckle Up Program, Career Path, fire safety talks with private and civic organizations, health fairs, and public service announcements.
The Operations Division is dedicated to providing essential emergency and non-emergency services to the community. Our skilled and dedicated team is always ready to respond to a wide range of emergencies, including:
The Training Division is dedicated to ensuring that our team is fully prepared to handle any emergency that comes our way. We believe that the best training is essential for our firefighters to be able to effectively respond to fires, emergency medical situations, rescue missions, and hazardous materials incidents.
Through our training programs, our firefighters are able to obtain the necessary certifications and qualifications to excel in their roles, whether it's fighting fires, performing life support skills, or rescuing people from hazardous environments.
