During 2017, the City of Stillwater gathered input from residents to gage support for community improvement that could be included in a possible bond election in 2019.
What we learned from that input (which included surveys, face-to-face conversations, social media posts, etc.) is that residents are open to a possible sales tax increases for transportation improvements—in addition to public safety and other infrastructure projects funded through general obligation (GO) bonds.
GO bonds and dedicated sales tax are two possible ways to fund infrastructure projects.
Residents expressed support for the following projects.
Relocate Fire Station 2 (Knoblock & University) to a different location to provide better service delivery.
Replace Animal Welfare/Humane Society building
Transportation improvements (streets, traffic control, bridges, sidewalks, trails, etc.)
