The City of Stillwater follows the Oklahoma Open Records Act and the Oklahoma Open Meetings Act. The Open Records Act is a series of laws designed to guarantee that the public has access to public records of governmental bodies in Oklahoma. The Open Meetings Act legislates the methods by which public meetings are conducted.
Utility Customer Service is not a financial institution, nor does it engage in providing financial services. The law does not permit the office to release social security numbers (SSN). Customers do not have to provide their SSN to open an account. Any photo identification to substantiate the signature of the customer and proof of age (18) is acceptable. The required deposit is the maximum amount permitted by city resolution if SSN is not provided.
